01   Information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways:

• Information you give us directly: such as your name, email address, and mailing address when you subscribe to our newsletter, make a donation, sign up as a sponsor, register for a program or event, or contact us with a question or correction.
• Payment information: when you make a donation, payment is handled by our third-party processor, PayPal. We receive confirmation that a donation was made and, where provided, your name, email address, and donation amount, but we do not receive or store your full card or bank account number.
• Information collected automatically: such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the Site, collected through standard web server logs and analytics tools.

03   Donations and payment processing

Donations made through the Site are processed by PayPal, a third-party payment provider. When you donate, you are subject to PayPal’s own privacy policy and terms of service in addition to this Policy. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we may be required to retain certain donation records for tax and accounting purposes, including your name, donation amount, and date, for the period required by applicable law.

04   Newsletters and email communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter or updates, we use your email address to send you the communications you signed up for. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you may also unsubscribe by contacting us directly at any time. We do not use your email address for purposes unrelated to Ten Tumultuous Years without your consent.

The Site may use cookies and similar tools, including standard web analytics services, to understand how visitors use the Site and to keep certain features working. The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including recordkeeping required of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and then delete or anonymize it where feasible.
